When the Rams played the Giants in London last year, I was at sea and didn't get to watch that game. Did that game also start at 1:00 p.m. ET? I thought they used to have an earlier start time for London games.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
According to two sources, the Rams home game against the Cardinals on Oct. 22 is at 10:00 a.m. PDT. Is that correct? Is this the first time they have had a game on the west coast scheduled to begin in the morning?by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
Due to a heavy workload and traveling, I haven't been very active on the board this year, but I always enjoyed posts by TonyHunter87 and wondered why he chose that board name. I would like to offer my condolences to his family. I also have a close family member who is nearing the end.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
I did not like Williams as the DC -- that is something we don't agree on. I was optimistic about Goff for the reasons that you mentioned -- until the third preseason game. In that game and in several others last year, there were too many errant passes, which is a show stopper in the NFL. After watching Goff make some impressive passes against the Colts, I am hopeful that he could become as good aby L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
I had similar thoughts during the off season. I was amazed that the Rams kept giving Fisher chances when it was so obvious that he was the problem. I was thrilled that they hired McVay. I was initially hopeful that he would get the most out of Goff, but I was concerned that that might not be good enough after his dismal performance in the third preseason game. In that game and last year, it seemeby L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
Who will they cut next? Larry Bird? Wilt Chamberlain?by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks for the information. I would do what you're planning, but can't since I will be traveling. I might try to program it remotely.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
That's not true. Last year, I was at sea for more than a month. Before heading out, I consulted the schedule and set the DVR to record several games weeks in advance. Considering how much DirecTV charges for the NFL package, you would think they would provide the schedule well in advance, but this is what happens when a company has a monopoly.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
Has anyone been able to determine the DirecTV channel that the Rams-Colts game will be on? Considering how much they charge for that service, one would think they would make this information available well in advance. I'm going to be doing some traveling and wanted to get it programmed into my DVR before leaving in a few days.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
What about those who say he will be good? It seems that your idea is biased against one side.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
...for an NFL head coach and GM. The Fisher tenure was sickening because it dragged on way beyond the point at which it became clear that it was time to fold 'em. Unlike poker, you can't gain anything in football by bluffing and holding onto a bad hand. As a Rams fan, I have always been a proponent for letting a player go without delay when it becomes clear that it's time to fold 'em. There is aby L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
"...who gives a crap about reputation like it sometimes seems people are worried about on this board.." You and I have the same opinion about this. Thanks for clarifying.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
Why is that a better question?by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
"...one was considered very successful..." Among qualifying passers in 1993, Mirer's rating of 67.0 was just ahead of the 65.0 rating of the 28th ranked passer in a league that had 28 teams at the time. That isn't something that I would regard as "very successful."by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
...what is this about putting reputations on the line? This is a fans forum for a football team. Do any of the members actually care about their reputations when it comes to discussing their opinions as armchair quarterbacks?by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree. Based on what I have seen, it seems possible that Mannion could be good enough to lead the Rams to the playoffs. If he were to be named the starter, however, you never know what could happen when other teams figure out how to play him.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
If you're trying to make a case that Mirer was more successful than Goff at similar points in their careers, that supports the case that I was trying to make in my original post.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
We have very little to go by in judging Mannion besides preseason. That is all we have. That is all the Rams coaches have. Based on what I have seen, Mannion appears to be a better QB than Goff. The possibility that Goff/Mannion could turn out to be similar to RG3/Cousins has also been expressed by others, including some of the so-called experts.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
"Actually, this is quite different from Rick Mirer. Mirer actually had a pretty darn good rookie season" Here are their rookie passer ratings: Mirer 67.0 (1993) Goff 63.6 (2016)by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
My opinion of Goff is based on everything that I have seen. By this point, a QB who really has something should have already shown flashes of ability. Goff hasn't, and that is the basis for my opinion. On the other hand, Mannion has shown flashes of ability.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
Responses noted, but the early stages of Jared Goff's career bring back memories of Rick Mirer.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
During 50 years of following the Rams, I have had a pretty good track record of objectively evaluating QBs on the basis of their performance on the field, which is of course all that a fan has to go by. I have now seen enough of Goff. He can't play. It's hard to imagine how he managed to fool so many experts when he was highly regarded as an NFL prospect.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
In the 49ers game on Monday Night Football, the Rams took a big lead and were in control. Later in the game, they gave up two 90+ yard TDs to John Taylor. I was sick about that loss and tossed and turned all night. Against the Bills (also on Monday Night Football), the Rams took a late lead on a long TD pass to Flipper Anderson. They then went into the prevent victory defense and allow Frankby L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com

Lombardi coached the Redskins for only one season, and that was 1969.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
It was the first NFL game that I ever attended. I can still see Joe Namath throwing an interception and the tearing up his knee trying to make a tackle. That play changed the course of his career. He had never missed a game up to that point. He was never really the same again although he did have some big games in later seasons.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
