Growing up in Tampa, I watched him take over a team that had started out 0-26 and then taking them to the playoffs two years later. It was a sad day in 1982 when he left the Bucs, which had one of the worst owners in the NFL. What you are saying precisely reflects my thoughts after watching that game. I had always liked the Lions going back more than 50 years, when they had Greg Landry, Lem Barney, Charlie Sanders, etc. and used to play the Vikings tough. It is unfortunate that inept refs decided another Lions game. There was the fiasco in Dallas, but this time they handed the game to the Lions. I have not yet had a chance to read other posts about the refs in this game. So this post is based entirely upon what I saw. Send him in on certain short yardage and goal line situations. Stafford is good in such situations, but it seems that Wentz is better. The Rams don't just need to have him run in those situations. According to the Playoff Picture site at ESPN, the 49ers have a 60% chance of making the Super Bowl. For that to be true, they would need to have, on the average, a 77.5% chance of winning each of their playoff games. I think the 49ers chances would be more like 55% to 65% in those games. To me, the most crushing Rams defeat occurred on this date in 1969. After the only 11-0 start in Rams history, the season came to an abrupt end in Minnesota. That Rams team had the NFL MVP in Roman Gabriel, along with Deacon Jones and Merlin Olsen. George Allen was the head coach, but that was his final playoff game with the Rams. With the emergence of Kyren Williams and Demarcus Robinson and the resurgence of Cooper Kupp and Matthew Stafford, the 2023 Rams offense is, in my opinion, better than the 2021 Rams offense. The most glaring weakness of the 2023 Rams is Derion Kendrick. I was flabbergasted that he made the roster this year after playing so poorly in 2022. Why has this guy not been waived?
