The numbers are staggering: 22, 75, 99, 74, 94, 76, 56, 69, and 87. No other RB in NFL history has anything comparable to this. Over the years, the Rams haven't always been lucky when needing help from other teams. A good example is the 1970 Rams, who missed out on the playoffs when the Raiders laid down in the final game and let the 49ers blow them out. The Packers should beat the Seahawks, but I'm never very confident in other teams helping the Rams out like that. There is some truth to what you are saying, but not for certain positions. For example, running backs often excel right from the beginning of their NFL careers. It's because what they do requires instinct, toughness, elusiveness, speed, and other basic skills. A linebacker should never get beaten in open space by a QB -- not even Josh Allen. Speights let him get by for crucial yards more than once. Rule Number 1 when a QB rolls out is to NOT go for the pump fake. You need to just zero in on the QB like a heat seeking missile. I loved how London Fletcher tackled in open space.
