The Rams-Vikings playoff was on December 27, 1969.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
Tomorrow is the 50th anniversary of one of the most epic playoff games in the Rams history. Roman Gabriel was the MVP of the NFL in 1969, when he led the Rams to an 11-0 start. They floundered during the last three games of the regular season and then went to Minnesota to play the Vikings in the playoffs. In those days, the homefield alternated season by season. In 1967, the Rams had the best recby L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
The die was cast when the Rams failed to make the right moves during the off season. Even though they started 3-0, it was already clear by that point that this was a seriously flawed team that was capable of getting blown out by scores such as 55-40, 45-6, and 44-21.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com

I prefer that the focus be on the game itself, not peripheral nonsense like a gigantic video screen or idiotic nonsense such as the pirate's ship in Tampa.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
That's not my prediction of the score. It's the score of a Rams-49ers game late in 1987. That season was somewhat like 2019 in that the Rams unexpectedly had a bad season following multiple playoff seasons that were filled with promise. If the Rams come as unprepared to this game as they did against the Ravens and Cowboys, the score could be close to 48-0.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com

The way a message works is to have discussions on various topics. When someone opens a discussion, other posters are free to post replies to that topic. If someone wants to discuss a different topic, they should open their own discussion. I made the original post, which is on a topic that has been discussed on this forum. With the NFC East leader having a sub-500 record before the latest game, there were complaints about the current playoff system. I wouldn't be in favor of a new system in which the division winners aren't guaranteed a playoff birth, but I have an idea for a new system that would be reasonable. Allow all teams with at least 10 wins to make the playoffs. In some seasons, this would mean one or twoby L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com

As an inter-conference game, it might not have much of an effect on the wild card in terms of tie breakers. Has anyone looked into this?by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
The Rams traded a first-round pick for Cooks. In just about any draft, it is possible to obtain a better receiver than Cooks in later rounds. Cooks is currently the Rams 4th best WR (behind Kupp, Woods, and Reynolds) and probably the 7th best receiver (behind Kupp, Woods, Reynolds, Higbeast, Everett, and Gurley). The time has come for the Rams to give Reynolds more playing time than Cooks.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com

While watching on TV, I couldn't tell whether or not the receiver got a hand in there. From this view, it is clear that he didn't.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
If so, it's very difficult to catch a ball that gets tipped at the last instant. Not that I'm advocating for Cooks or anything.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteCraigMatson Was that the so called Phantom sack situation ...NFC championship game vs the Niners thing ?? That was tough. A real stain on Everett s image. And then Jim Rhome moment. Oh man maybe I shouldn't even unearth that stuff. Sorry guys. I would regard the Jim Rhome moment to be Jim Everett's finest moment.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
In any game, there is a delicate balance of strength vs strength. Many games are competitive for a while, but as soon as one team gains the upper hand a game may turn into a blowout. There is often a thin line between a cellar dweller and a team that's in the playoff hunt. Were the Rams really that bad earlier in the season? They were held back largely by holes in the offensive line. It might seeby L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
In 1989, the Rams became the first team to travel to cold weather sites on the east coast and win three consecutive do-or-die games that got them to the NFC Championship (where, sadly, they ran out of gas and never regained their mojo until 1999). This year, the Rams might have an opportunity for another remarkable achievement in three consecutive games that I don't think has ever been done -- knby L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com

I'm talking about the apparent difference in arm strength. For the first time all year, Goff was throwing the ball on a rope -- like a Marino or Elway. That wasn't the only apparent difference, but the apparent physical difference made me wonder if there had been an undisclosed injury.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
It would be best for the Rams if the Vikings lose to an NFC team. In that case, the Rams will win the tiebreaker. I'm not sure about it if the Vikings lose to the Chargers. In that case, they would have the same conference record as the Rams.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
It is best for the ball to tumble end over end on FG attempts. When that happens, the ball tends to travel in a fairly straight line -- as much as the wind will allow. Zuerlein's kicks have been tumbling in an unusual way, and I believe that is why he missed the crucial kick in the first Seahawks game. Something seems to be amiss in the Rams special teams coaching.
