Wondering if the Rams are doing that "we're not paying day 1 prices" thing. And will wait until the dust settles and try to find some players that slipped through the cracks? Thinking DE is the only one they would pay top $$ for, as there are many DB's in FA, maybe DE will be our first pick in the draft?by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
Or maybe we should have tried to sign this guy???by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
I thought we eat $15 Million if we cut him and $20 Million if we keep him? This seems like a no-brainer. Just keep him. Yes,you can save $5M, but have to pay Him or someone $2-3M. ??by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
Let's say the Rams use the majority of their cap to retain last years team, as they have mostly done so far. Maybe we get a mid-high level CB or safety in FA. And the rest has to be added via the draft... Are they a ligit contender? Or do we need to restructure guys, kick the can down the road, and go after Burns, etc...by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
....and it's gone.by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
Are big for continuity. I was getting a little worried with both Dotson and Shelton as possible losses in FA, we would have been rebuilding. It's not even like our O'line is great. They were horrible in 2022. They definitely overachieved in 2023 so not having to re-tool much is going to be the best medicine, IMHO. Same with Robinson. We can upgrade, but having players on the same paby kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think you are not following the thread. We, the board fans, are not saying Kupp is done and that it's time to discard him. Or that anyone wants that.. We are saying the news that the Rams are potentially looking to trade up in the first round to get one of the top WR's and also inquiring about Mike Evans, a top receiver who would demand $25 million plus, is making some of us speculateby kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
The only reason I give the Rams a pass on this is that they got bamboozled by Stetson Bennet.by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
Kupps hamstring was mysterious because after more than half a year of rest, he is seeing specialists to find out why he has a re-occuring hamstring issue, then gets put on IR. I didn't mean mysterious as in "was it something else". I just mean everyone was expecting Kupp to be healthy after McVay wrote off the prior season and told his top 3 players to take the rest of the year off,by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't even know his numbers. I know he had a big game against the saints and I think the Commanders. But he had a full season off, shutting down half way through the prior season. Then come go time, he goes on IR with a mysterious hamstring injury. To me the bigger concern was him and Stafford are not in sync because he has lost a step. So many times they went to Kupp on a bigby kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
There is no reason the Rams met with Odunze and possibly made an offer on Mike Evans. Their interest in these two means they do not have faith on Kupp, or they have been informed by Kupp that he may not be good to go and/or could retire. Also, Kupp was not Kupp last year.by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
How is Puka and Coopers career going vs. John Ross? I think the 40 time needs to be ignored. You watch a guy on film. Maybe if two guys are equal, their vertical jump could be something to measure, but all those stats at the combine are a waste of time. Can you play? The catching drill at the combined is all I would want to watch as a scout for a receiver.by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
We all know offensive lines need to gel. I wish the rams would have signed one of these guys at least and let the other hit the market. At least guaranteeing some continuity. I get the gamble. And I get that it may not even be in the cards to pay a guard $15+ Million. But on the flip side, there are consequences. Stafford may only have one more good year left. We are stillby kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
Never heard of him. From the article photo I noticed he is white and plays CB, so I was intrigued. Watched his Iowa highlights. He's no shutdown corner, but looks solid. I like that he can return punts as well, we could use an upgrade over Trammel who, I believe is told to fair catch every time. That is a weakness. Trammel didn't make any mistakes, so he served us well, but that isby kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
The only thing I like about Trammel is he is pretty solid at not fumbling and making fair catches. But our special teams felt like a weakness, not a strength. Also, don't we still need a FG kicker???by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
Love it! Big piece for offensive consistency. Anything else we do from here is bonus. With Puka, Kupp, and DRob, Stafford has his core. Maybe a big tall backshoulder/fade hands guy. Instead of route runner, for the red zone.by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
Call more running plays when inside the 5. Just saying, I could do that better if given the opportunity. I don't know which run plays to call, just that I would call more run plays. Oh, and reach for things on the top shelf. Also better than McVay.by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
We get a huge increase, but also means we lose at least one player we wouldn't have previously lost to one of the other 31 other teams that just added $13M to their bankroll.by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
Bennet is a waste. All the way around. Wish him well, but peace out.by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
Sounds like he is not the top of the radar for OLB/DE's. Could be the guy if the price is right.by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
If the cap goes up for all teams, it doesn't really help us.by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
Hmmm. Did he want $50 Million? This doesn't make sense. Who else can they go after?by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
Kupp is becoming a liability relative to his cap figure. To some degree Donald as well.by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
No, he's the Tiger Woods of Football. Changed the game. Combination of athleticism and a accuracy. He may or may not catch Brady's 7, but if he gets close, it will be a ligit argument on GOAT.by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
Two things we probably won't do: Get a top tier kicker. Throw more to TE's. So that's settled.by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
Why do these ego maniacs want to be a head coach? I'm sure Spags could get $4 or $5 million to stay as DC. Stay in your lane.by kw13 - RamsFootballFans.com
I wish the Rams blitzed more, and/or send a safety/CB in with some LB dropping into coverage. I get that you need a little better talent given you are relying on some 1:1 coverages. However, I also am not a fan of blitzing on 3rd and short. The play call is almost always a quick slant and your guy is not going to get there, you are just giving him one less man in coverage.
