Some guys just look like NFL players. Hard to put you finger on exactly why. Whittington just has that look. Calm. Workmanlike. Makes it look easy. Not saying he'll be a star. But, dang. Good addition to the WR room.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
What he went through with this interview is the frustration with non-professionals that I brought up a couple of days ago about reposting garbage on this board simply because the word "Rams" is in it somewhere. He is asked too many BS questions from Junior High School level "journalists" who like to hear themselves, or has to face the insistent Eor's of the world like Garby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I can't imagine that Winn believes he has a snowball's chance to ever make the team. I doubt if something happened to QBs 1 or 2 and that a 3rd QB was needed long term that the Rams would see him as that guy. But, perhaps McVay needs a guy that just loves to play, he makes some decent money for awhile, and apparently is better than a jugs machine.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I think by now the way Snead and McVay are envisioning the way the Rams will be structured is clear. It is a somewhat revolving door of yearly influx of young, hungry players on D, while trying to obtain and retain good vets on O. So, the cap will be slanted towards the O. I think they will pay Earnest as the signal caller and leader of the D, but outside of that, probably no more than a coupby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't see anyone proposing restrictions or a slop-cop. We have good posters here, and a bit more discernment before just throwing up everything that comes out about the Rams would be a good thing. But hey, you want to read anything and everything with the word Rams in it, be my guest. I'm on this board because I don't want to go to all the social media that exists and try to filter throughby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com

This Rams board has been so good for so long because there is good football knowledge here and so good relevant discussions happen. I'm disappointed that more recently every article that even mentions the Rams seems to wind up here one way or another, that clearly someone who has no idea what they're talking about writes up as though it's Facebook social media. I think we've reached a pointby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
This isn't the profile I think the Rams are looking for other than for the moment someone who can step in play. Under 300 is the former Rams, not the 2024 Rams IOL.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
1) We may not have all our Olinemen back by Detroit. But none are going to out much longer than maybe the first game. 2) We'll keep 4 RBs because depth is important and we have 4 good RBs of which at least 3 can play STs. 3) I think we'll see a trade, soon, for another ILB. When Jourdan is unimpressed with what they have, then you can bet Snead/McVay are, too. 4) I see 3 TEs, 7 WRs, and 2 Qby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm with James. I don't like TC or preseason hype. Everybody with a camera or a keyboard, or, a clever name and a backdrop suddenly becomes a contributing journalist (like this Jake Ellenbogen guy) who has some real info or actual NFL background to offer any more than a fans opinion. Sure the national guys with trade info is good to know. But not much outside of that. I pretty much listen toby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Gary Klein is nothing if not consistent. So, other than I struggle with guys who live their lives and communicate in a glass half empty sort of waiting for the worst to happen manner, once you know that then it can be factored into everything they say. It's just his way and I don't think it's at all contrived or forced. He just sees the world.... everything... from this same viewpoint. Sinceby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com

McVay will probably be here for some years after Stafford. But, I agree that the Rams are not going to go with spending a lot of draft capital for a rookie QB, and then waiting for him to develop. They may have to go a year or two with a more journeyman type of vet QB, while waiting for their opportunity to pounce on a top notch one. But, I just can't see McVay or the Rams going the route ofby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't know that Training Camp ought to be the telltale about players (especially about what 1st and 2nd year guys will do). But, if they can't show up in Training Camp, hard to imagine they do show up in games. Actually, I've learned this about McVay. It's one thing for him to say nice things when asked about a player; it's another to volunteer it. When he starts mentioning someone again anby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Good guy. Body is letting him down. Rams knew that, which is why he isn't here anymore.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
These are two different players, whose careers have gone along on two different planes; never on the same team with the same players and the same coaches at the same time, in which an actual comparison can actually be made. What each cost in draft picks is utterly irrelevant to comparing the players. When he would appear on the 11 Personnel podcast with Jourdan, he always sounded like he was at a funeral. And, the tone of his comments matched. I don't mind anyone with a "let's see how this turns out" mindset (I'm similar). But to more often than not assume that a player won't perform, or the Rams coaches made mistakes, or the GM picked wrong, seems to be his approach of choice. Andby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Clearly Les Snead has some more than friendly contacts with the GMs of the Lions, Atlanta, and perhaps the Bills and the Steelers. I wouldn't be surprised if Les didn't have a chat with Holmes about Jacobs and got some good info on the guy. Not saying I'm expecting Jacobs to be anything special. But, some guys just have a tough time putting it all together and then some bad luck on injury andby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
The world of NFL contracts is a tough one. The Rams do about as good a job as managing such things as can be done. First, they never make public what is happening, and never denigrate the player. This generally seems to lead to the player and his agent following suit and doing the same. This takes so much ego and emotion out of the situation. And then, the Rams seem good to figure out the truby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
You may be right when it comes to a typical sized WR. But, when it comes to a guy that is as small as Tutu, you would expect elusiveness. It's one thing to have straight ahead speed (which many typical sized WRs have). But, an advantage you would expect of a super small WR would be elusiveness. Otherwise, what possible PLUS is there in a really small WR if he is not both fast and elusive? There aby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I know this is early, but maybe its not. The Rams no doubt already have a plan, so this is my guessing on what it might be. Our resident capologists I'd appreciate you're chiming in. 1) Stafford will play out the remaining 3 years and then it'll be "let's see what happens". 2) This year and next will be Kupp's last. Trent Williams with 3 years left on his contract wants more guaranteed money, so has not reported and is officially holding out. Going to be interesting. He's still a good player, but OTs at 36 are every bit as risky as QB's at 36... maybe more. But, couldn't happen to a nicer team. That entire sentence about Whittington began with "I think". Further, I said she didn't go further than Tutu NEEDED to find a spot on STs. But, it of course leaves open the question "what if" he doesn't. And if he doesn't, I can't think of another team's 4th WR that isn't used on STs. And, should Whittington make a good showing, and be valuable on STs....well, it's just a nby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
It is my belief (and I think the league is now slanting this way) that the IOL is at least as important as the two edges. The Rams have spend big bucks beefing in the IOL as proof of this. It is very simple: the fastest way to a QB is up the middle. And, even if a good middle rush doesn't get to the QB, they have huge men directly in the face and in the line of sight of a QB. In her latest article Jourdan also notes (and I paraphrase) that Robinson has a firm hold on the #3 WR spot over Atwell although with a good enough camp he might be looked at as WR3b. And that it is going to be important that Atwell find a way to contribute to STs. There was no "and if not, then what", but of course that goes without saying. I think that Whittington is the lynch pinby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Typically guys this small are jitterbugs. They are hard to grab hold of because they are elusive. I see no evidence of this in Atwell. Speed, yes. Elusive, no. And, he certainly cannot break tackles. Bottom, line, I don't see him returning Kicks.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Aiyuk is going to want $30 + mil. Niners just can't do it. Wait until Purdy's new contract happens. Niners are going to have a fire sale on some pretty key players. It's just the way the NFL is wired.by RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I can't imagine the Rams are counting on JG to play in the playoffs, nor does any team count on their Back-up for that. The issue is his regular season stats, if we want to get picky about it. Look, I'm not some big JG fan. I'm saying sure, he is probably a system QB (in fact almost all QBs are system QBs). But McVay says the systems he has played are similar to what the Rams run. This is just too much. It's one thing for a QB to have some say (not too much) or at least be given a heads up over certain changes a team wants to make on offense. But to give a WR essentially a say-so to see if its OK if the teams' QB is benched? Very bad precedent for any HC. I guarantee you that wouldn't happen with McVay, Shanahan, Tomlin, either Harbaugh, any Green Bay HC, and a severaby RockRam - RamsFootballFans.com
