I wasn’t as high on Wentz as Goff for a few reasons. Wentz didn’t play a lot of games due to injuries. And his analytics weren’t very good. I was concerned that he may be injury prone in the NFL considering the way he played and got hurt at a lower level in college. Wentz is also about 2 years older than Goff, and I like the younger guy all things being equal, to have the better growth potentiby max - RamsFootballFans.com
Ah. You misread my post. I was talking about the preseason. I just wanted to see Goff look competent in the PS. I wasn’t talking about long term. My view was that we wouldn’t know if Goff was gonna be fine until we saw him play at least 4 regular season games. My concern was that I didn’t want him to look horrible in all his PS games. So was I concerned about Goff in mid-August? Yes.by max - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSpeed_Kills Max even says in the thread I linked that at that point he didn’t need to know that Goff was great. Only if he could be an NFL starter. I don’t remember saying that, and I didn’t see it in the link.by max - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, that take is on the mark. Some of us dig in on players, like when you dug in on GRobinson saying he would be just fine when everyone else had given up on the guy. I guess I don’t dig in as much. I react a bit more when I expect better performance and it’s not happening soon enough. The larger point here is that I was saying draft Goff way before others did. QuoteSpeed_Kills In the preseason you were all over Goff. Said the coach didn’t believe in him and didn’t trust him You at times had been very critical and during training camp and preseason last year certainly weren’t claiming him. Lol Really? Who was I claiming? I was never off of Goff even when I was disappointed in his early performance.by max - RamsFootballFans.com
Goff will be better this year. I have no doubt in my mind. My position was clear on Goff 3 years ago, before most everyone else thought he was even a possibility. I was ahead of the media then, and I’m still ahead of them now.by max - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteRams43 McVay can take the training wheels off a little bit. Cooks looks like a significant upgrade over Watkins and a perfect fit in McVay’s system. The TE corps is expected to step up this year. The entire starting O returns (with the sole exception of the Cooks upgrade) and is healthy. That should allow them to pick up where they left off. I think that the D is vastly improved.by max - RamsFootballFans.com

I do think its a tad bit premature. Walsh is arguably the greatest coach of all time. Let's give McVay at least another year or two. There is one thing I find particularly underrated. Through all the hype we've been experience this offseason, the thing that I find most perplexing is how people are missing the possibility of Goff exploding this year. In the 2nd year of McVay's offense, Goby max - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteSpeed_Kills You’re moving the goalposts now... but at least you’re also slightly adjusting your stance and not as well. They have lost two leaders on the field and in the lockeroom that had been around a while that’s just a fact. It’s obvious the Rams are banking that they can be replaced but we don’t know for sure.
