I mean your not wrong, but no team is going to be good year after year (the Patriots being the crappy exception that proved the rule for 20 years). I hate Morris' soft approach and think it totally negates the usefulness of having the best DT in the history of the league, but I have also heard that there may be a shift in defensive philosophy. Lets let them play a game or two before we just throby darams222 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think they signed him to run the scout team. He has a better understanding of offenses and defenses at the NFL level and would probably be able to run the weekly opponents scheme more accurately than Bennet. That would be my guess as well.by darams222 - RamsFootballFans.com
Agreed. I think he meant to write play Stetson Bennet for the rest of the pre-season. If you read it, he says that there is no upside to playing Rypien, and that Bennet would benefit from the reps. I am personally in agreement with that sentiment.by darams222 - RamsFootballFans.com
I understand that the defense is not the issue, and if the offense were halfway competent, the team would likely be making a playoff run, but one other thing I have been thinking about is the defensive money being spent vs. the defensive philosophy. It seems like they have two different philosophies that are opposed to one another. On the one hand, they are paying a ton of money for the pass ruby darams222 - RamsFootballFans.com
He seems like a lot of fun. I started following him on Twitter after reading this article.by darams222 - RamsFootballFans.com
No, I absolutely do not believe winning is a trait. If winning is a trait, then only one coach per year can have that trait, and that would be the coach that wins the Superbowl. Then the next year, when they don't win, I guess that trait just disappears and they become one of those second place losers consoling themselves? Nah, winning is the end result and not a trait. However, I do acknowledby darams222 - RamsFootballFans.com
Except winning isn't a characteristic of a good coach, it is an outcome. I will take a good listener and communicator and somebody that connects with the players. Saying this sounds like a snowflake millennial approach sounds dismissive for no good reason other than the fact that it isn't the way things used to be done. Well, that is also not the way Jeff Fisher did things and how did that worby darams222 - RamsFootballFans.com
Great idea, but I would like to propose a variation. Evaluators pick hit or miss before and after the draft. This would account for scheme/fit. So if Jeff Fisher drafts your can’t miss hit of a quarter back, you have a chance to downgrade them to piece of garbage miss. Likely too complicated, but I do think coach/scheme plays a huge role with some players and positions.by darams222 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteThe_Bad_Guy ... for a team with a brand new head coach and staff, not to mention one that is in the middle of a major offensive overhaul in terms of scheme and personnel. Ugly? Sure. Who knows? Maybe none of this is going to work and *some* of the regulars who come here to spread bad tidings will get what they want and be able to dance around the funeral pyre. But how about everyoneby darams222 - RamsFootballFans.com
It is what it is. There will be a lot of excuses, including the depleted D-line, but the fake punt seemed indicative of how this staff seems to think the Offense is the third most important phase of the game. Hopefully, they will take this loss as an excuse to bring in Goff and begin his development. Now that Trumaine Johnson appears to be out for an extended period of time, might as well getby darams222 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think Mannion is the backup this week, because I think if something happens to Keenum, Fisher want's Goff to get his first action in the regular season at home. With the way Fisher handles rookies with kid gloves, I think this is the plan. If Goff does start this year, you can bet it will be at a home game.by darams222 - RamsFootballFans.com
You can literally hear Berman have a football organs every time the nines do anything positive. It sucks to listen to this as a Rams fan, especially since the Rams spent the off-season making everything even more ineffective. Another l on no season of losing, would rather not have to listen to Kiss 49er as Berman comment on it.by darams222 - RamsFootballFans.com
I came here just to post this. Berman should be banned from calling 9'ers games. Such a Homer for them. At least pair him with somebody else. It's sickening to listen to the commentary on this game. It's obvious both announcers are rooting for the 49ers. Annoying as hell.by darams222 - Game Time Forum
Well crap, the future history of Goff has already been written. No need to go through this charade. Rams should cut Goff tomorrow so that he can offer to play for free in four years. If Jamarcus Russell didn't make it under similar circumstances, no way Goff can either. It doesn't matter if they have different ways to prepare, or different desires to be successful. We have seen the future, aby darams222 - RamsFootballFans.com
Agreed. Don't want to spoil it, but he seems to be just as fed up with the image of him as a head coach as most of the posters on the board! I really enjoyed that scene. Wow!by darams222 - RamsFootballFans.com
On the one hand, if the Rams bomb this year then I want the best coaching candidate and GM to fill those positions. But, if I'm really dreaming, then the Fisher Snead train starts to take of this year and we don't have to start another rebuilding process. I want to see Goff play well and the rest of the team step it up. I wan't to see tangible progress and reasons to stick with what we have.by darams222 - RamsFootballFans.com
