On the one hand, if the Rams bomb this year then I want the best coaching candidate and GM to fill those positions. But, if I'm really dreaming, then the Fisher Snead train starts to take of this year and we don't have to start another rebuilding process. I want to see Goff play well and the rest of the team step it up. I wan't to see tangible progress and reasons to stick with what we have.
I'm damn tired of rebuilding and rooting for the next perfect coach and GM. If I'm dreaming, the current regime finally starts to pay dividends. To me, the alternative sucks and is the same old story. We hire a great new coach or GM. Yay, he had success as this, that or the other thing, so he can fix it all At first everybody is excited, and agrees that the talent on the team will let him win now. But then we start to hear rumblings that the system doesn't fit certain players, and the lack of draft picks will mean it will take some time to rebuild. So we can all go back into rebuild happiness mode and accept a few year of crappyness, blaming the old regime while we slowly mount reasons to fire the new regime and begin to route for a new coach or GM that can finally fix this mess. Been there. Done it. Bored by it. I would rather dream that the team is about to turn the corner and build a dynasty, rather than hope for a hot new coach.
Remember when Philly fired Andy Reid because Chip Kelly was the hot new thing. Well, flash forward a couple of years and they are doing everything in their power to distance themselves from Kelly and hired an old Reid assistant. All I'm saying is that things aren't always greener on the other side.
