Why this guy? Doesn't seem like the WRs played very well with him coaching them.by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Pats defense is overrated . They built their ranking against a bunch of below average QBs. If they can't mug the WRs for ATL it will be a long night for them. If the refs call them for that ATL puts up 30+ . I think it will be all about ATL being able to jam and get pressure on Brady. The Giants beat him twice smacking him in the mouth.by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah. Tried watching some of the different TV super bowl shows, Fox And Espn, NFL network , just boring same old stories told by different talking heads and then switch over and some other guy or gal is telling it from a different angle. It really becomes massive overload with 2 weeks to talk about one game. Hopefully it will be a good game with the Falcons getting the win. Still think NE pby bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree but Les will be looking at players that can excel in the two systems, both McVay's and Phillips'. Getting their kind of guys will be key going forward. Get football players.by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Not sure that's true, but you can report anything now and say that's why. Maybe the Rams never had Shanahan that high. So while he may have not liked Goff(Until I hear it from the horse's mouth......) why be upset with who they interviewed first, they had to line them up and get them done and his availability was limited , and he was interviewing with other teams too. Don't care since he'by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Think it was Fisher since he was signed first and signed off on Snead. I think it would be the coaches both McVay and Phillips who tell Les the type of players at the positions of need and Les will give them a group to pick from and together they will decide.by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Will be interesting to see what they have in the safety position. There are a couple of guys like Randolph from Tennessee who we know next to nothing about. Deep draft in CB. Some good FS prospects also.by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Can't pay Tru top 5 CB money, he isn't worth it, not with the depth in this draft. Really can't see paying him 12+ a year.by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think they are talking about McDonald, not Tru. Not sure you keep Tru either as he wasn't nearly as good as last year. Not sure why, maybe nicked up . But if someone offers him crazy money , he isn't worth it imo. The draft is deep in CBs this year and there are a couple in FA. Just depends in what Wade wants.by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Heard late last week that the two GM candidates were to be flied in to meet Shanahan to see if they hit it off. Seems like Kyle wanted a flunky and none of the other guys wanted to be.by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Kyle: I like my Caramel Macchiato with no foam. JL: Got it boss.lolby bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
So Shanahan will have total control, Lynch is what, the guy who gets Kyle's Starbucks? This is stupid. Nothing against JL but sounds like he won't be in charge of any football related jobs.by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Seems to me no GM or even any of the up and comers, i.e. the young guys wanted the job. How else can you explain hiring a guy who has no experience at football operations. He played but running football operations? Has Shanahan already signed? If he did he must be good with this and maybe he will have a lot more say about who, what, when ,and how the team is constructed going forwardby bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Makes no sense. He has spent as much money on players and coaches as any other team in the NFL. He isn't a cheap owner it's more about his failings as far as hiring football guys. The football guys he hired, Fisher and Snead failed, Fisher having them at 7-9 just on the edge of winning had Stan convinced NEXT year was going to be the breakout year right up until it wasn't. The biggest miby bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Both guys are going to have their work cut out for them. Hope McVay gets it done. Also wish that they would film everything McVay does going forward this coming year. Think it would be riveting to watch him mold the team into what he wants and see how he coaches and motivates this team. I find the interaction between coaches and players fascinating.by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
That last sentence says it all. Shanahan can wait one more year and have Andrew Luck and rebuild in Indy(CP is gone after next season, imo) Or sign on with SF and a rookie QB to rebuild. (though both owners are flaky and could fire you after one season even if they say they will be patient). Guess it is a roll of the dice and if he is getting control (though it seems like a new GM in SF )by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Think that he needs to review the roster , which he is doing and anything at the Senior Bowl Snead can fill him in plus he can see film of them any time.by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Sportrac has Leary's market value at 9.1 milliom per and Tretter's at 8.7million a year. That's nearly 18 million . Not sure they sign both. Or either one. If just one take the one that accepts the offer first and sign Whitworth to play LT. Maybe a line of Whitworth, Saffold, Tretter, brown, and Havenstein would be a big improvement.(draft a LT to develop).by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Well at the very least they have gone out and hired a pretty good set of Offensive coaches. McVay- HC/playcalling Olson-QB Kromer-Oline Still to be determined the OC, WR, TE coaches.(not sure on RB-Peete But he must have convinced McVay) He will be getting very good QB coaching I think so it will be up to him to prove the naysayers wrong.by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Madden was right , Jack Youngblood was a football player. Best Ram ever. Happy Birthday Jack, You Da Man.by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
At least for the QBs. But heard a story that the players coming in on offense are not prepared to play in a pro style offense when most teams run a spread type O. Why not at least allow classroom instruction?by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Agreed, between McVay, and Olson he will get more than enough teaching on reads, protections, and the offense. Too many people in his ear and he won't retain a thing.by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Found an article from Jim Thomas that state it's 2018 but can be moved forward depending on game participation. He played in 12 games for the Ravens but I couldn't find anything on how many he needed to play in to move it up .by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
I love this dog. Can't ever stop watching them, or rooting for them to get better. But I have no expectations about how they will play year to year. I hope every year will be the breakout year where they turn it around. Now I watch other teams during the year to offset the dirty dog that is our Rams. I watch certain teams with interest And choose a team in every game so it stays inby bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Deep draft and chances are a guy in rds 3/4/5 turn out to be as good as some of the top drafted CBs taken.by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
This dude is the real deal. Seems to be able to lock up everyone who rushes him. Reminds me of Z. Martin/cowboys.by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Think that it will be Morgan or Laufer as OC. The reports on Kromer seem to point to Oline coach and think McVay may want one of the young guys he knows to work on the game plan while he does the HC stuff during a lot of the week. Wes Phillips should also be coming over.by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
I also have the whole 1999 season on VHS.Bought one of those VHS to Disc machines but never got around to moving the tapes to disc. Actually someone was talking about having already burned transferred them over .by bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
Hey LA, Will we ever know if Shanahan was ever interested in the Rams Job? After the missed interview they never seemed able to line up a new time , wondering If the Rams just moved on or did they get an indication from Kyle that he wasn't Interested in the HC job. Maybe it was about control and not wanting to work with Snead.(not saying that was the case, same with not liking Gofby bigjimram21 - RamsFootballFans.com
