QuoteRamsDynasty Slow day at work, so should we approach Johnny Boy Gruden about giving up Jared Cook for a low to mid round draft pick. I know so Rams will groan considering his past history with the team. However in this offense we wouldn't be as dependent on Cook now but he would be a serious receiving threat to be accounted for at the TE position, which neither Higbee and Everett are at the mby RamsFanSinceLA - RamsFootballFans.com
After 7 games I find it interesting that Sammy is catching roughly the same percentage of targets this year with Mahommes as he did last year with Goff but he's getting significantly more targets this year. The reason for the catch percentage could be that's just him, or it could be his QB's accuracy. I haven't seen much of Mahommes but I've heard his accuracy can be erratic at times even thougby RamsFanSinceLA - RamsFootballFans.com
Me neither. I used to read his stuff for the comedic value but certainly not for his football acumen. I don't read him anymore because a lot of his stuff is just too juvenile and stupid.by RamsFanSinceLA - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotezn I would not call him very talented though. To me you could sub in about a dozen to a dozen and a half other ROTs from around the league and they would do as well or better. Like James and 43, I strongly disagree with your Hav assessment. Nobody is saying he is the top RT in the league, and yes there are better ones out there, with the number of better ones being subjective. But man,by RamsFanSinceLA - RamsFootballFans.com
I happened across this article and thought it was interesting since in the 2016 draft the board was pretty split between Goff and Wentz. For the record, I was in the Wentz camp but now I'm glad we have Goff. As for the article, the "game winning drive" is a big criteria in evaluating the "eliteness" of NFL QBs and Wentz's record in that area isn't good. That's not to sayby RamsFanSinceLA - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotegovane QuoteRamsFanSinceLA It looks to me like Cooks was not the first read as Goff isn't looking his way. Problem with that is that reads should not be static. First read should be dynamic depending on what the defense does post snap. A QB can't be in the huddle and say no matter what happens I'm looking at you first. Should be something like.. if the def plays cover 2 zone my first reby RamsFanSinceLA - RamsFootballFans.com
It looks to me like Cooks was not the first read as Goff isn't looking his way. I don't know what the routes were for all of the receivers but he looks to see if his first read opens up. But I tend to agree, he knew he only needed 2 yards and should have probably glanced over at Cooks as soon as he saw his first read covered. But like R2K said, you could probably find the exact same thingby RamsFanSinceLA - RamsFootballFans.com
Cooks only caught 33% of his targets this week but Denver's game plan was to make Goff's life a living he!! and they were pretty successful at it. Meanwhile, Sammy caught 50% of his targets in that shootout in New England.by RamsFanSinceLA - RamsFootballFans.com
With unmet expectations, the disappointment is greater. With unrealized hope, there's still disappointment but not as intense. That's the mind game I play with myself when it comes to the Rams. I think they have a great shot to GET to the big game and possibly win it, but it's my hope they do, not an expectation. The Rams are a great team but they have flaws that are surprising, defense,by RamsFanSinceLA - RamsFootballFans.com
Hopefully the Rams aren't looking past the Whiners with Rodgers and the Pack next up. If they do, they could lose this game as the Whiners have some fight in them (man that hurt to say that). I don't think they will but it is possible.by RamsFanSinceLA - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamsfsninmd ....the defense is not good.... Neither is the Packers. But, I'm not all that confident in ours either. What I saw from Beathard last night was impressive. I think we'll score almost at will against the Whiners but we'll have a hard time stopping them too. I still think we win but I think it's going to be another close one. The Packers D is even worse so that game is goiby RamsFanSinceLA - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 Early on we saw teams selling out to stop Gurley and forcing Goff to beat them. Didn’t work very well. Now we see the Broncos selling out to stop Goff and daring Gurley to beat them. Didn’t work very well. We saw opposing teams attack with runs and TE and largely avoid attacking our secondary. Didn’t work very well. I had them going 14-2 with losses to the Saints and Chiefs. So unless something unforeseen happens, I'll pick them to win until the Saints game.by RamsFanSinceLA - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotedzrams Quotejemach ignore the stats...The TEs not hurting us? Not yet. We'll see what they do this week against Denver...Denver is horrendous at covering TEs. The TE is a weak link. And, there will be a coordinator who will expose it. This is an offseason discussion but since you all brought it up, if we are a WR offense, maybe, just maybe, we shouldn't be spending a 2nd round picby RamsFanSinceLA - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 As Denver linebacker Von Miller said: "We’ve got to go out there and work. ... We have to do everything times 10. ... It’s definitely going to take our best to have a chance in this game. at the crossroads, and I have to play better. We have to play better.” Nice article and makes sense. Rams game plan is to jump ahead by a big margin early through the air and negate Denver's ground game. This puts the onus on Keenum and he isn't up to the challenge. Rams win 31-17.by RamsFanSinceLA - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteRFL QuoteRockRamI'd bet the farm they'll get this rectified and play much stronger and more consistently quite soon. I guess I am surprised by this remark. Why would someone be sure that the D unit will come around after 5 games? (By the way, I re-watched that AZ game and Bradford STANK in it. A good QB gets them some points.) I don't know if anybody else besides me missed it during the game but go back and check the clip of that 4th down play in the link Mama provided. Watch how far Hav drives his guy...at least three yards. He just destroys him, and then gets up, sees Goff and does the same arm action that Goff did. Awesome!by RamsFanSinceLA - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteRams43 Honestly, I like the Rams over the Chiefs. That Chiefs D stands little chance against Goff and company. I kinda like the Rams over the Saints at their dome, too. I know that an undefeated season is very unlikely, but I also feel that a healthy Ram team should be favored in every game. IOW, I feel that any Ram loss would have to be at least a mild upset. Here's my crystal ball for the remaining regular season games. Go Rams!!! Game 5 @ Seattle: Rams go up to Seattle to face the Seahags and the 12th man. They start out slow but soon silence the crowd as they pull away. Rams win 34-20. Record: 5-0. Game 6 @ Denver: Another very loud home crowd and Denver has a pretty good defense. I was at that game too with my brother. We accidentally sat in seats that belonged to Chargers season ticket holders and when they got there they got pissed as they saw a couple of Rams fans sitting in their seats (ours were the ones in the row directly behind).
