'he said this, but he probably meant this...' C'mon. Let's get real. All coach interviews are usually worthless. No real information. It's not their job to spill everything to the media. I don't care if he goes full Bellicheck and just mumbles one word answers. I don't judge a coach on how honest they are in a press conference. Communication with Goff? Who knows how it went. Kiser? Sorry, not impactful and can't stay healthy. Young makes too much money for mediocre play. Reeder is solid but look at some the better ILB's around the league and the impact they have in games. We don't have any difference makers inside (or outside if Floyd leaves). This is probably the weakest unit (apart from KR and PR) on the team. We have guys that are very good as 2nd string / sby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
He seemed to say Goff was part of the problem but not all of it. So McVay is laying some of the offensive regression at his feet.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
'importance of center position', 'freeing up enough money to field the best team possible' - did not hear him say - 'we really want to bring Blythe back'. Maybe they do bring him back, or maybe this is a 'you did a good job, best of luck to you'by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Stafford needs to win at least one. Warner is the best we've ever had, or have had since. Hopefully that changes. Some teams have one who's far and away the best - Montana, Marino, Elway, Manning (Colts years), Brady. Hard to see anyone of them ever being outdone.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Like the old saying - even a broke clock is right twice a day. I don't think it's far fetched. We need to find money. Whoever our new O-line coach is will probably hit the film room hard and give new analysis on every one of our starters and back-ups. This could result in status quo or some shuffling / rethinking.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Guaranteed money is guaranteed money. Whether we pay now or later - it hits the cap at some point. I am not excited about paying guys that can't stay on the field. We need to be building for this year and beyond - not renting a few aging players here and there hoping one of them makes a difference. Otherwise we could have Jackson, JJ Watt, Zach Ertz and a lot of guys who haven't been prby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
He's not the player he once was. 8 million base salary. No thanks. We either keep Higbee or trade him and bring in someone cheaper. We need money to address other areas.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
And what makes you think he'll just come in and 'compete' without some guaranteed money? Don't think that's realistic. We had a fast, small guy who couldn't stay healthy and sent him packing Moving on.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
When you can't convert short yardage situations or runs inside the 5 on a consistent basis - there is a problem with your O-line.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
All 3 played OT in college, along with Evans - so that's 4 college tackles they can try at that spot. We just don't have the money to pay big contracts to 'pretty good' or 'solid' players. That's what the draft is for. I still think it's possible that Woods is made available for trade to make room for Jones. But we'll see,by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
None taken in the 1st round from 2009-2016 is with their original team. Shows how much a crapshoot the draft is and how few really great QB's there are.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
With the cap tightening, it might be time to look to trade Brockers - though I'm not sure his big cap number and age is all that appealing to other teams. I think Brockers is a very good player and would like to keep him, but if we can only keep one - I'd go with the younger player at this point.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm not even sure where to begin with this nonsensical position. There is not a coach in the league who doesn't hire who they consider to be the best fit for every assistant position. Not doing that is a good way to find yourself unemployed. Only times coached may not find the best and brightest is nepotism - hiring your son or brother.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Seems hard to believe. There are decades of documented knee issues and injuries and a nation full of very talented orhopedic surgeons who work on athletes from every spot you can think of. The knee only has so many parts - are the Rams being evasive?by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Got it. Carry on.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
They both 'tear it up' at times - but why are they not in the top tier and why do their teams want to move on?by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com

And he didn't start week 1. He went through off-season, training camp, pre season, sat and practiced for 9 games or so before he hit the field. Some of it has to do with him not adjusting to NFL system from Bear Raid maybe. Maybe he'll never get all the way there.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
At the time we laid it all on Jeff Fisher's feet. And Shottenheimer. Some of it deserved. But when you look at rookies pressed into starting on non-playoff teams since Goff was drafted - he may be one of the worst. Bad scheme aside - the team had a decent defense with Donald and Brockers, plus a younger, healthier Todd Gurley. Fisher's teams weren't dumpster fires - just consistent 7-9 disaby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
So they go on and on about Mahomes is the next GOAT or Brady is the GOAT - they are trying to fill 2 weeks of around the clock coverage on multiple networks. It's too much coverage imho.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
If the cap hit is prohibitive, that makes sense. But I think we're confusing what we think Higbee can be and what he really is. There were some really good TE's in the league this year. Unfortunately, Higbee wasn't one of them.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
His blocking has been rated poorly at many points in his career. Don't think he's earning his money. He's not even in the conversation for top tight ends in the league. I think we want to believe in him because he's our guy - had a crazy good final stretch last year and makes a lot of money. Other than that, I think he can replaced for less money.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Thought this was a fair assessment. And it's a bit anti-Brady - which I like!by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Bringing in a FA WR like Marvin Jones would be a good thing, it seems - but why destroy our WR depth. Next year it will be one of our more thin position groups. After Kupp and Woods there is no proven NFL starter talent. Jefferson may become that, but have we seen enough of him in limited snaps to be sure? Someone like Jones would just add to the weapons. For whatever reason - Higbee's 202by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
He's the best defensive player in the league, bar none, drives our entire defensive game plan, and he was completely ineffective due to injury. Our other pass rushers besides Floyd are really glorified rotational players. Our ILB's are depth talent, not starter talent. Lafluer and Rogers were able to exploit that.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
Why do people continue to compare our O-Line which had a pretty good 2020 to the Chiefs fill ins that turned into traffic cones? They are nothing alike. Our O-line is very similar in 2020 ranking to TB's. It's not like Brady didn't get hit or have bad games - throw picks under pressure. We're talking the whole season - not one 3 hour span. Enough with the excuses for Goff. He's not a Ram.by promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
I think it really did hurt his escapability - he seemed to only be able to run backwards and then try and spin around to get clear - not like what we've seen from him before and it clearly got worse as the game went on. Who knows - it may have affected his ability to plant and throw. I think it's that dreaded turf toe that doesn't sound bad, but is like some kind of painful ligament damage. Upgrade Center and our line will, once again, be in the top half of the league in ranking. Also, and maybe this is just last night's game talking - the deep threat really didn't seem as important as the disruptive outside pass rush. Tampa has some speed, but didn't seem to use it - Evans isn't a burner, nor is Brown and Gronk runs like a middle aged guy trying to get into Chili's before they loby promomasterj - RamsFootballFans.com
