A trade really didn't make a lot of sense, unless they were just bowled over with a huge haul of picks. Because I don't see Jimmy G as someone who could come in and play at the level that Stafford did. Only reason I could see is if they just couldn't come close to making a deal, or if McVay has his eye on someone that he really likes and would be good with trading Stafford. Absent that I cby brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
If it does come down to trading him, Stafford to Pittsburgh or Browns makes sense. The Browns are a darn good team. Except for the QB position. Stafford can help fix that. The only issue there is the albatross contract that is Deshawn Watson's. I don't know how they can make that fit unless they rid themselves of that horrid deal. Pittsburgh is still the most likely. But as long as the $$ is there, the NFL will keep doing this. Don't worry though, NFL. Maybe one day your sport will be popular enough to have franchises in other countries like the other major sports do. :) Joe C.by brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
Especially considering how arrogant some Cowboys fans can be. But...I kinda feel sorry for them now. The once proud franchise has becoming a national running joke. They completely botched the head coaching search. And none of the top tier candidates apparently wanted anything to do with them. And now they make this hire. Ok, nobody knows how this will turn out. Very saddened to hear the news of his passing. He was a very passionate fan and most definitely will be missed. My sincere thoughts/condolences/prayers being sent to his family and friends. Thank you posting this, JamesJM.by brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
...why should you be allowed to push another player forward? I think it should be banned (or re-banned)by brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
So sad to hear the news of his passing. He really will be missed around here. My thoughts and sympathies and sincere condolences to his family and friends. :( Joe C.by brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
LOL... I mean, I like what Buffalo has been doing (though they still can't seem to figure out the RB position), but windows close quickly in the NFL. Even with a young QB. Who is about to be paid, btw. I'm guessing a lot of fans in Buffalo would take a deal like this: "Ok, we win a Super Bowl (finally!), but in the next couple of years or so we might struggle as we retool a bit. Sending many a good thought/vibe/prayer your and you FIL's way. Sorry to hear about all the bad stuff happening in your life recently. You're right -- this board is full of great people. From all over the world and all walks of life. I'd like to think we are one big (sometimes a bit dysfunctional) family. But during a few Herdfests I have been honored to meet up with so many great folks whby brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
....pretty good filling the LT spot on the team last time around. Might take some cap magic and stuff, but I'd definitely be interested in seeing what it would take to possibly acquire him. Joe C.by brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
But putting them behind this OL would do very little, IMHO. Between injuries and ineffective play from most of the offensive lineman, it's been hard to get any sort of consistent running game going. And Stafford is basically getting squashed out there when he tries to throw. Just don't see how this offense will improve much unless the offensive line issues get addressed. Actually I think thby brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
Once again, thanks for taking the time and effort to do this. Really helps a lot with some of us casual fans who don't get to see a lot of college football. Much appreciated! Joe C.by brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
To be on an highway in the dark at that time sounds a bit strange to me. But regardless, so sad to learn of his passing. 24 years old is much, much too young to leave us. My sympathies go out to his family and friends. :(by brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
Always appreciate you and Alyo's thoughts every year. Great stuff. Thanks!by brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
Seems like I just heard on Sirius XM just a few nights ago. One of the very best. And that "This is Sportscenter" commercial was a classic one. I'll definitely miss him. RIP, Professor.by brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
Though it would be funny if they use another one on a QB who basically doesn't see the field once again. ;) But on the surface, it looks like the Packers just weakened themselves and the path through the NFC gets a bit easier. Would have been nice if Brady stayed retired, but the Rams showed he can be beaten in the playoffs -- and Father Time has got to catch up to him eventually. Maybeby brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
First of all, I think it's unfortunately a pretty good move for Seattle. Even with Wilson, I don't think they are a viable contender. So while he still has good value, deal him and load up again. Though I do wonder if the Seachickens are doing this to load up on draft capital and perhaps make a run at Deshaun Watson. Don't know if Seattle is one of the places he would agree to be traded to.by brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
...I kinda questioned his signing in the first place. Granted, when he was in college, I really wanted the Rams to draft him. But that was many, many moons ago. Age and injuries made my question why the Rams wanted to sign him. I know they wanted someone to stretch the field, but I really wondered how well he would actually fill that role. Turns out...not well. No huge deal though.by brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
I have the feeling Stafford will come out gunning in this game. Basically after facing the Bears twice a year in the past, a bit of "how do you like me now?" coming this Sunday night. Maybe it's just me, but I am thinking blowout here. Something like Rams 34-13 over the Bears. And hopefully Aaron Donald making Andy Dalton's life miserable back there. Nicely played M*A*S*H reference. Though I am all for getting the call right and the process being quicker as well. Though maybe the TV folks won't like it since it's probably less time to air commercials.by brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
Even though there have been plenty of picks being blown over the years, Greg Robinson has to be at the top of the list for me. Not only was he a 1st round pick, but he was a very high first round pick. And at a very important position too. At least they got Aaron Donald later on in the 1st round of that draft (at #13, if memory serves), so that kinda makes up for it some. Too bad they couldby brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
I am just a casual draft follower. I don't watch all the tape and see all the players that you and others do. But to me most of the Rams draft seemed, "Meh." All these guys look like they could be coached up and contribute in some manner. But none said, "Hey, looks like they got a real steal at this pick!" to me. And 149lbs at his pro day? Wow. I weighed that in higby brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't mind speculation on who is going to pick what. But the incessant "Mock Drafts" are totally useless to me. I don't care about Mel's or Todd's picks for 1-32. Also hate the "such and such dude is climbing the boards!" I would think most teams have had their boards stacked and graded for a long while now. I can see "fallers" due to medical or characterby brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
If you wouldn't have told me they were new, I definitely wouldn't have known otherwise. And I don't hate 'em. They look pretty good, actually. Nice, clean and simple. Works for me. Joe C.by brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com

Thanks once again for your draft insights. Really will enjoy reading this offense evaluation list. And really appreciate all that you post here for us. Thank you, DP. Joe C.by brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
A lot of us were saying that at the time too. You are in an ever closing window to win now. So what do you do? Trade up for a QB who may or may not pan out. And then draft a RB who is a bench warmer. If I was a Packers fan, I would be livid with the front office. Joe C.by brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
But Skip Bayless agreeing with it is now giving me some pause. ;)by brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
Look, it's pretty much been established the Rams are in a "win now" mode. And that window won't stay open that long. So why not leverage future assets (which may or may not amount to anything) for someone who I think immediately upgrades the most important position in football. You can say Goff's and Stafford's stats are similar Fine. But I would really like to see how wellby brgjoe - RamsFootballFans.com
