Oh, yeah. I know what you mean. I only had one set of grandparents growing up... my dad's parents. My mom's dad died when she was a little girl and her mom died when I was about 6. I barely remember her. My dad's parents passed away when I was in my 20's. They didn't do a lot with us when I was a kid. My grandmother did try to teach me to needlepoint and knit. But my grandparents didn't play with us... board games, puzzles, or just pretend when we'd use our imaginations. I can't tell you how much of that we've done with our grandson.. Just about anything he's up for... so are we. We've played with him in so many different ways that we wished our own parents and grandparents would have played with us like that when WE were kids but never did. I tell ya, it makes for some pretty sweet memories for us... and I hope for him, too. He loves spending time with grandma and grandpa and the feeling is mutual.
