that the 'type' of liquor makes for very different 'hangovers'. I never drink to excess any more.... meaning none of those 'true' hangovers that feel like death. Just the thought of getting one of those major hangovers gives me an anxiety attack.
BUT... and as I think you're alluding too - just a few drinks gives me the ''slows" the next day... and the degree of 'slows' varies greatly with my chosen beverage.
Wine slows me the most. Whiskey would be next. Beer the least. Problem... I love wine if I'm having a very good dinner.... to help I try to spread my drinks out over a long period of time. So if I drink a half bottle of wine, (sometimes a whole bottle but rarely), I'll drink it over the span of a few hours. - JamesJM
