I didn't get onboard with Styx until The Grande Illusion tour, when they opened for.... Kiss... I wasn't familiar with them, but they were so good live, I kind of transitioned to being a Styx fan over a Kiss fan.. Saw Styx about 6-7 times - until Roboto came out.. I was a metal head by then..
Have seen Styx 3 times since those days - all with the current line-up for the most part.. As long as tommy shaw and James Young are onboard, its gonna be good.. the new Keyboardist is FANTASTIC and remind sme so much of a more animated Dennis DeYoung.. Todd Sucherman on drums - one of the best sessionn guys in the business, and Ricky Phillips on bass - he was originally with The Babys (in the John Wait days)..
they did add a no-name guitarist that stands in the back.. Not sure why they needed to, other than to fill out the song during harmony solos?
You should dig them if you are/ever were a Styx fan..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
