Did I ever tell you that...

You have an amazing memory, Ramgator. Seriously.... your recall of specific Ram games and the players involved is really quite amazing.

I can't claim the same... I wish I could.

But last night I did have a similar experience as yours. I was visiting my friend who is in stage 5 of Parkinson's disease. His home was built in 1948 and it's been very well maintained, with a couple of room additions. To make things easier on my friend he moved into what used to be the original living room and made it his bedroom. He has a hospital bed now.

The room: for me it was like walking into the past. It was very near how I remember the living room in the home I grew up in... until the age of 10 when we built a new home. Old furniture, lamps, etc. My friends wife made us a couple a drinks - Crown Royal. My friend had a keyboard near his bed... a Casio. I didn't know he played a keyboard.... well... he really doesn't. He was never an actual keyboard player and now, with Parkinson's, it's hard for him. He had learned a few beginner songs over the years. He began to play...

Mostly right hand only but a couple songs he used both hands. He began with some church hymns... Ave Maria, Amazing Grace..... but then, to my surprise, he moved on to Christmas Carols - "Away in the Manger", "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear"... he played many... stumbling, of course, but I could make out the melody. laughing smiley

And I sat back, sipping my Crown Royal, listening.... joining him on a couple of songs where I knew the bass part (no, I'm not a keyboard player but I know a handful of VERY simple songs that I can play badly laughing smiley ).

Memories swept over me. We shared old Thanksgiving and Christmas stories. It was... a memorable evening. - JamesJM

Getting sentimental.. As I started my outside Christmas lights, it took me back to 1976.
