Man, you're going all out, but probably a good idea.. We replaced our AC unit - inside blower and outside condenser units - but kept the ductwork and freon lines etc.. I wanted new freon lines, but they sort refused to do it and I didn't feel like haggling with them..

But, yeah, I'd try to keep all that dust outta your system.. if you do it before changing out your inside unit, then do run the AC while you're stripping the popcorn.. Don't run it for at least a day or two afterward.. its amazing that, no matter how much you clean and vacuum, that white dust will form for 2 days afterward.. its like a storm that never ends..

  There's a company here in Jacksonville that uses vacuums as they scrape.
