I've done it, myself..

Its easy, just makes the biggest mess you've ever seen.. you just spray it with water and scrape it off with a large putty knife.. if you get it wet enough, it scrapes off very easily.. Gotta be careful to not damage the sheetrock underneath.. Try as you may, you'll catch the corner of the knife in the sheetrock every now and then.. just hafta mud over that with a small putty knife and wall mud..

The mess is insane.. You hafta put plastic down over every inch of carpet and furniture.. do a room at a time.. wait a littel bit (for all the stuff to settle) then wrap the plastic up into itself and throw it out.. then vacuum.. even after doing that, white dust will form on everything for a day or two, so you hafta keep cleaning..

I would actually do your popcorn BEFORE you replace the AC.. that way all the dust doesn't get sucked up into your brand new AC unit..

Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..

There's a company here in Jacksonville that uses vacuums as they scrape.
