We had two Ospreys land..

about 100 yards from my office and I'm not kidding - the ground was shaking.. It was crazy..

About 15 years ago I did a course on the C-5.. Their landing gear (not the nose gear) actually rotate 90 degrees, then retract into the body, so I was doing a course showing how that works - which is freakin crazy.. So, they put the C-5 on blocks and let me up into the landing gear bay area while they retracted and lowered the gear.. it was freaking crazy..

In the body I sweat you could play football.. its a mile long.. then to get to the cockpit you climb up a ladder INSIDE the airplane.. sitting in the pilot's seat I'd swear I was 5 stories high.. totally nuts.. how those big bad birds get off the ground is way beyond me..
