And when I did I was playing 4-5 rounds per week. And after all that... I held it for about 3 months, tops.
Billy Carvalho, you know him? He and I played every week at Fresno West for 40 years. Billy was always a good golfer... I borrowed some clubs from him this week because my son-in-law and 2 grandsons are playing a scramble tournament on the 28th. I had to hang it up many years ago.... Billy never did. He's currently a 3 handicap.... AND.. he's 70 years old!
About my game.... most of those years I played with an 11-12 handicap. But I was capable of a 98 on any given day.
I did that often.... but as you know they toss out your highest score... not sure if they still do that, probably. Making it worse was the way I'd shoot a 98... I'd be playing at my handicap, or a little worse... then take a 10 on a couple holes... in other words... I wouldn't just hit an errant shot, or two... I'd implode.
