I guess for THE TIME, they were cutting edge but I also recall MAAAAANY skits that were not funny at all. I consider Chevy Chase HUGELY overrated. Don't get me wrong, the originals were good....NEAR the top. But IMO, not the best. Personally, I think the Nealon, Hartman, Farley years were the best.
