Actually I didn't even watch Star Trek until it was in syndication. But the follow-up series? I may, not sure, have seen an episode or two but that's it.

For me my primary motivation is sharing it with my grandsons. Not that I don't like the movies, I do... and a lot.... but following with my grandsons makes it even better... sort of seeing it thru the eyes of a child, or young adult.

I did the same with Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter.... discussing the storylines with my grandsons along the way.
