I remember it was a lot "LESS" than I would have thought - BUT... it's one of those things you have to experience. I can say this.. uphill they can go faster than you or I. 
In a flat sprint no, BUT... factor in the shock of having a slinky snake coming after your ass and chances are you're about to be bitten.
