I couldn't eve guess how may hours I spent working on the F-14's

when I was in the Navy in the mid 80's , the F-14's was still the Navy top dog , but , they were being phased out by the brand new F-18's

and now , those brand new F-18's are being phased out

does that ever make me feel old

technically , those F-18's were phased out years ago , replaced by the Super Hornet , still called the F-18 E/F , the Super Hornet looks the same , but it's a completly different aircraft , it's larger the the old F-18's

anyways , the ending of the movie , a little over the top , but I loved it , I was grinning from ear to ear the whole time \

for a couple different reasons , but I don't want to spoil anything

I was actually in the Navy when the first Top Gun movie came out , saw it on base in Lexington Park Maryland
