I was just thinking..... why would Jada be offended when somebody referrs to her as G.I. Jane 2? If you know anything about the G.I. Jane character from the movie, it's actually a flattering comparison. Yeah, both women had an all-over buzz cut but it's not a question of disrespect when comparing Jada to G.I. Jane. The character in the movie was played by Demi Moore and in a nutshell, she was a determined, no-quit bad-a$$ who wanted to become a Navy Seal and in the end.... she did it. So why would anyone take offense to the comparison? I sure wouldn't.
Here's what the movie G.I. Jane was about.
When a crusading chairperson of the military budget committee pressures the would be Navy secretary to begin full gender integration of the service, he offers the chance for a test case for a female trainee in the US Navy's elite SEAL/C.R.T. selection program. LT. Jordan O'Neill is given the assignment, but no one expects her to succeed in an inhumanly punishing regime that has a standard 60% dropout rate for men. However, O'Neill is determined to prove everyone wrong.Just chew on that for a minute. There is nothing about the character or the movie that should cause one to take offense to the point that one feels the need to reach out and hit somebody for calling their wife "G.I. Jane". Seriously? Will Smith's behavior in the matter was wrong and his sloppy attempts to make it right in his acceptance speech just made me ant to hurl. He said "love makes you do crazy things". NO... it doesn't. Crazy, bat-sh*t, unhealthy, and immature relationships can make you do crazy things. Lust will make you do crazy things, but not love. You want to know what love is? Read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. What we saw.... that wasn't love.
