Meet your new Captain James T Kirk

they announced yesterday , the cast of Paul Wesley as the new Captain James T Kirk , for the upcoming new show , Star Trek : Strange New Worlds , which airs in May

although filming of season one wrapped up a long time ago , it's believed that Kirk wont show up until season two

without the first episode even airing , Season two had already been greet lit

although ,

even they they just made the announcement yesterday , doesn't actually mean he was just cast , he could have been cast like a year ago, and just now made it public

so could he show up in season one still , maybe towards the end of the season

possible
