But I can't answer with knowledge... I'm not a 'crab' expert... BUT... I think I can answer you because you apparently are so can decipher this next:

The crab they get are flown in from the east coast..... Maine I believe. Arrangements have to be made months in advance because the crabs are flown in and delivered almost immediately... I believe they arrive after harvest within 12 hours.... or let me explain more precisely... the crabs leave Maine? on Wednesday night... arriving in Calif. on Thursday morning.... then immediately delivered to the Dante Club.... IOW, we eat the crab less than 24 hrs after they are caught. It's an expensive purchase....

Tickets this year were $100 per person.
