I bought a model to put together...

two of them actually... plus all the extras I need.. tools, glue. I had to buy the extras because this is probably the first model I've bought in 65 years?

I got to thinking that it would be a great hobby for my youngest grandson and I. He loves building things, (as do I), and he's fascinated by engineering. And so... I thought putting together an airplane would be a great tutorial for teaching him a little about aerodynamics. So I chose a P51 in hopes of explain each component, it's purpose, and how it works.

His major fascination however is history. For that I'll have to study up a little to explain exactly why the P51 was developed, it's purpose, and how it was used in a few specific battles.

The second model is more for me.... ok, ok, it's ALL for me. It's an old west Stagecoach. It's a medal model. I have ridden in a few stagecoaches, more than a few actually, and they are NOT comfortable means of conveyance. The suspension in even the best old stagecoaches leaves a lot to be desired. Actually the most comfortable seat on a stagecoach is the driver's seat, not that it's comfortable. I can guarantee you that if you were to take an all day stagecoach trip today, in a replica of those built in the 1600's, 1700's, 1800's, you could perhaps walk the next day but you'd be hurting.
