Few living original cast members left

November 21, 2021 03:46PM
There are very few original members left.

Michael Lerned (Olivia) - living and is 82.
Lynn Hamilton (Verdie Grant Foster) - living and is 95. This was the African-American woman who lived nearby and couldn't read.

Richard Thomas (John-Boy) - living and is 70
John Walmsley (Jason) - living and is 65
Judy Norton (Mary Ellen) - living and is 63
Eric Scott (Ben) - living and is 63
David W Harper (Jim Bob) - living and is 60
Mary Elizabeth McDonough (Erin) - living and is 60
Kami Cotler (Elizabeth) - living and is 56

Everyone else who was a regular on the show is deceased: There are some actors who played extended family members, townspeople and neighbors who may still be around but I didn't look them all up.

Ralph Waite (John Walton, Sr) - died in 2014
Will Geer (Grandpa) - died in 1978
Ellen Corby (Grandma) - died in 1999
Joe Conley (Ike Godsey) - died in 2013
Ronnie Claire Edwards (Corabeth Godsey) - died in 2016
Mamie Baldwin (Helen Kleeb) - died in 2003
Emily Baldwin (Mary Jackson) - died in 2005
Reverend Matthew Fordwick (John Ritter) - died in 2003
