not having to shave leads the list. Although... I still do shave, or rather trim my beard - but not every day.. once a week is sufficient.
Also $. Shaving has become exorbitantly expensive. Not that a beard is 'cheap', just 'cheaper'.
I don't understand this next: these days my beard grows amazingly fast. I can go from clean shaven to a full beard in a month. But for whatever reason that occurs I can pretty much go from no, or a short beard, to a full beard in just days!
I have some of those haircut thingies, you know... some use it for haircuts. I think it has like 8 clipper guides of varying height? (Hair length). About once a month I'll trim it all the way down with #3, which is short but still a beard.... not stubble. Then for the next month I'll go up 1, to #4, then to #5, each week until I get to the longest clipper #8... this keeps the beard of even length (some places grow faster than others)... after #8 I got back to #3 and then repeat the cycle. Sounds a bit involved, doesn't it? But each 'shave', once a week, only takes me about 1 minute. - JamesJM
