I'll never forget being in the computer room one day, and the entire house shook.. computer room is next to the garage and I literally thought a car had crashed through our garage door.. I ran outside totally expecting to see a car smashed into our garage door, but there was nothing.. I looked around.. nothing.. decided to try and open the garage door.. again, nothing.. didn't work.. inspected it, then realized the massive spring over the door had broken.. I have since found out that spring can easily kill you, there's so much tension on it..

So, every time the house shakes violently, now, I check the garage door spring.. since that fateful day, its only broken one more time..
