Sonic booms ever day due to the Air Force base here.. it became illegal, at some point.. I was at the 80th a couple of years ago, which is the squadron that puts all the planes in the air here.. group of pilots was all dressed up and headed for the jets.. I pulled out a $20 and said, "twenty bucks to the first guy who does a sonic boom!".. everyone laughed, but its a strict no-no now..
