free wheel it I mean. I have it all written out. If I ad lib it I will inevitably forget something I should have said.
I both edit and ad lib during the delivery a little but all salient points will be written out. It also comes in handy to have it written because every eulogy I've ever given the family has asked for a copy.
Most funerals I'm asked to invite anyone who would like to add anything to come up and speak, after the Eulogy. Some do... and like you they simply speak from from the heart, nothing written down. It works very well, most of the time... but occasionally they break down and are unable to finish. - JamesJM
