We are heading that way as well but still a few years out. I love the combustion engine but I think it will be an option soon and electric will be the standard.
I just bought a Ryobi push mower. Battery powered. I've only used it once but I am impressed. I took it through very tall thick grass (weeds) and it performed like a champ. It's not as strong as a gas powered lawn mower but it's damn close. Everything else about it is better IMO. Lighter, quieter, easier to start.. no gas... Interchange the same batteries for the chain saw and weed eater... Again, they are no heavy duty products but for what I do, they are great.
I will always have a gas powered vehicle. I have a 2012 Xterra that is basically our beach vehicle. I hope I never part with it.
Congrats on the new car! I love Tesla. I have only read reviews but they look great and the people who have them seem to love them.
