The week leading up to the episode where Hoss and Jim were to see who was "king of the mountain" was for us kids bigger than any heavyweight championship fight in history. If you're too young to remember and dying to know who won... well, it was Hoss... but on a technicality, IMHO. Truth is - it was a draw.

Slim lived around here for much of his life and I somehow missed actually meeting him on many occasions.
