When I was in the Army, 1970, a lot of the old WWII buildings were still in use. In fact, I stayed in many of the old wooden barracks during my time in the Army... at Ford Old, Camp Roberts, Fort Lewis, Fort Monmouth. In Germany I lived and worked in the WWII buildings built by the Germans. IOW, I was immersed in WWII memorabilia.

There still exists some of those old buildings AND they are in use.... but not many. Even the 'newer' concrete buildings I lived and worked in, post WWII buildings, are now mostly gone. - JamesJM
