I'm all for saying goodbye to 2020 but I'm not expecting things to begin to return to normal until 3rd quarter 2021. Public health officials have already said that we still haven't seen the worse of the pandemic so I'm trying to brace myself. Even a year from now, the normal that finally sets in won't be the same normal it was before the pandemic started. We may never see that "normal" again. Many businesses that closed during the pandemic will never re-open and how long it will take for the economy to catch up is anyone's guess. It may take years.
I am hopeful that there are good days ahead for us all but I am fearful we'll have more bad days than good. I believe it's going to take a united effort to get through this. It's been 9 months so far and that united effort hasn't happened yet. Why not? 'Cause there's too much "ME" and not enough "WE". It doesn't have to be this hard but it's gonna be.
