We actually had a 2'x4' waist-high container that we bought from a place in Vermont. Our tomatoes and peppers are in that. And we had three "City Pickers" patio garden containers (you can get them at Lowes and Home Depot. Only about $32 and they've worked well for us). They are about 2'x2' and they're on wheels. One was for lettuce, one was for herbs, one was for strawberries. I think I'm going to get 1 or 2 more of those for next year. The big container was really expensive and is not on wheels, It's filled with potting mix and would take several people to move it since it's not on wheels. We didn't think about that when we bought it.
These pics were taken at the end of May. At that time all we had producing was lettuce and herbs.
The whole deck garden. Tomatoes and bell peppers are in the large container. Cucumbers in one clay colored pot and zucchini in the other. Trashing those pots at the end of the season. I put the hoop contraption up on the large planter to keep squirrels out. It looks like crap but it works. Got the idea from an Aussie guy on a Youtube video. It needs some tweaking to be sturdier which I'll do next year.
Roman strawberries early in the season. Frank said the strawberries had wonderful flavor. Much better than what you buy in the store.
The herbs have done extremely well all season. Next year I won't plant as much. We have way too much for just the 2 of us.
Planted 5 heads of lettuce but 2 didn't make it. The other 3... did very well until it got too hot out. Delicious while it lasted!
