It's real

It's real. It's been covered by ESPN and MSN, too. Here's what happened:


The kid hits a foul ball coming over the fence from another game while hitting the pitch from the pitcher at the same time! Apparently, the kid was called out as one of the balls was caught and the other one was fielded and thrown to second for a force play. Gina Marie, the woman who took the video, says that the plate ump didn’t see what happened yet this kid was called out, regardless. The next day the umps did say after reviewing the videos it should have been a dead ball. This happened during a baseball tournament but I haven't been able to find out where or when it happened.

Some folks who have studied the tape say he didn't hit both balls at once. Some say the ball bounced on the ground next to his left foot. Some say ff you watch frame by frame, the baseball from foul territory never changes trajectory and that the kid only hit the pitch. I don't know if he did or not... but it sure looks cool either wayl.
