The Cardinals played the Kansas City Royals yesterday in an exhibition game at Busch Stadium. The game was televised so we were glued to the tube watching. It's the first live sports of any kind that we've been able to watch in 4 months. I think the last live sports we watched was an XFL football game in March which feels like it was a lifetime ago. It was strange not seeing the stands filled with people and throngs of people milling about Ballpark Village. They piped in crowd noise during the game and players & coaches in the dugout wore masks. The two local announcers were in separate booths at the stadium rather than announcing side-by-side. But other than that... it was Cardinals baseball. So, yeah, it was a little weird but not bad. As long as the players and coaches can maintain their health throughout the season, I'll take this over no baseball at all. The first regular season game is against the Pirates tomorrow night.
