And I'm jealous that you got to go to Sauvage.. Really wanted to go there and meet the 3 legged dog, who I believe lost a leg to a Black Tip.. We had checked in at Kia Ora, the main resort in Rangiroa and were walking the beach.. I was shooting photos and not paying attention and slipped on a rock and fell off an embankment, barefoot, onto another sharp rock and jacked my foot up.. I was lucky I didn't break every bone in that foot and leg.. we shot a photo of my black and blue foot somewhere..

The diving there was ROUGH.. 8 foot waves in an inflatable zodiac.. But, "Shooting the Tiputa Pass" was amazing.. I did lose a fin getting back into the zodiac - one of a $200 set of fins, but luckily Scuba Pro let me by one fin from them lol.. that fin is still beached or floating somewhere..

Man, when you went on the other side of the lagoon - facing the open ocean - it was like being on a different planet.. it was amazing...
