Also if you like cop drama Michael Connelly's books are great.He was the L.A. Times crime beat reporter who spent years with the Hollywood Division of the LAPD. So his stories are based on a lot of what he witnessed. Much like Joe Friday (dragnet). Connelly authored Lincoln Lawyer which made it to the big screen. You will notice all of the Bosch scenes as well as in Connelly's books takes place in and around L.A. and Hollywood. Not pleasant cites since we're dealing with prostitution, drugs, rapes, and murders, etc.
