It did kill rock... and kind of..

music in general.. you went from incredible players in the 80's playing under MASSIVE stage shows to guys who could barely play, playing under one 100 watt light bulb.. and people thought it was cool.. but it was SO minimalistic, along with its depressing message, that there was nowhere to go after it..

and, yeah, it gave a voice to lazy, whiny teenagers who are now lazy whiny adults..
