Some important facts:
There are 110,000 "known" cases with 3800 deaths according to Johns Hopkins University.
Yes it is spread much like the flu but unlike the flu there are no vaccines to combat it.
On a percentage basis the death rate is triple that of the flu.
A two week supply of everything one needs including food, medications, household goods, etc is highly recommended.
So while all of us like to pretend we are health professionals the bare facts are that this is extremely dangerous and will continue to grow.
The virus itself is fairly easy to comprehend if one wants to research it. There are clusters (spikes) of different components on it. Some will cause nothing more that a serious case of flu like symptoms. Other clusters carry a viral pneumonia component which can easily cause death especially to anyone whose immune systems has been compromised-like elderly, chemo therapy patients, previous hx of pneumonia, etc. So even if you are lucky enough to contract only the flu like clusters w/o any spreading to the lungs you need to be very careful around others who may be far more susceptible to an even greater danger than yourself. Moreover, as we all know a case of pneumonia can be really dangerous to even those with a healthy immune system.
What I don't understand is the number of people that are filling up their cars with gas-as if we are about to be invaded by people from Mars. To me "travel" is the last thing one should contemplate during this time.
