Thank you, Mama..

It isn't easy.. and sometimes you try to not get too attached, but you always do.. and then when they become available for adoption, its like you're watching your own kid being adopted.. when they don't immediately get adopted it makes you mad because on day one 30-35 dogs always get adopted right out of the gate.. Its like, what's wrong with my dog? Then they finally get adopted and you just look at the photo of the family, trying to figure out what kind of life they're going to give your furry family member..

We send thank you cards and lots of toys and bedding and stuff and always include contact info.. out of 10 dogs, we've only had 3-4 ever contact s to let us know how they are doing.. its heartbreaking to never hear from the adopting family because you always wonder how they are..

And we always discuss that fostering might not be a good idea for us, because we DO get too attached.. but then we always go right back and get another dog.. its too difficult knowing these dogs are being pulled from death row and if they don't have a foster family, will be put down due to lack of space.. that's TRULY heartbreaking...

Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
