although if I was rich I would have a winter home there. 
Having lived in a place where we have basically two seasons... Summer and Autumn/Spring, I think I would enjoy 4 seasons.... as long as the 'winter' season was of short duration. I don't think there are too many places like that in the world... so my choices would be few.
I have many, MANY friends leaving California...Most are choosing Nevada... but close behind are Arizona and Utah. A scant few I know chose Texas.... and I know this will make you cringe but if I should ever choose to relocate Texas would be high on my list... although I haven't really looked into it so I don't know which part of the state... all I know for sure is that it would NOT be in a big city, or even a medium city. - JamesJM
