Your post make me think of: Do you know people that are nearly oblivious to anything NFL, or even "football"? I do, a lot of them. Many in my family... but I should explain that I have over 250 living relatives on my Dad's side and that many again on my Mom's.
But of those I'm close too, live near, socialize with, grew up with.. NOT ONE OF THEM, I'd bet money, even knew the Super Bowl was Sunday. And if they did they were annoyed by it. And actually, they are that way with ALL sports... no part of their world whatsoever. No baseball, no basketball, no hockey, not even NASCAR.... UNLESS, there is free food involved.
Not often, very seldom actually... I've been with them during a 'major' sporting event.... a huge game nationally anticipated maybe... very rarely a WS game, NBA championship game... without exception, literally, they'll ask me "Who is playing"?
