I'm not sure what the right thing is to do in this situation. It doesn't seem right, though, that the Astros get to keep the WS title, trophy, and place in MLB history as a winner. In the Olympics if a medaled athlete is found to have cheated, they strip them of their medals. I seem to recall some college teams losing championship titles for cheating as well although I can't site a specific example at the moment. The ramifications of cheating shouldn't be all that different from sport to sport although the sport itself will determine specific differences in handling. Fines are appropriate, certainly, but they're not enough. If there are titles and championships involved, the cheaters shouldn't be allowed to keep them. Allowing them to is talking out of both sides of your mouth. Just doesn't compute in my pea brain. There has to be a better answer to this thing. What's been done to "fix it" so far isn't wrong... it just feels incomplete. This thing is not over.
Exactly... unreal that MLB commish didn't do this right away. Dodgers don't want the trophy, they want the trophy stripped from the cheaters.....
At least the public and media are crucifying the Ass-tros and know the title they won is a joke.
Little league teams in Southern California have started to ban the use of the Astros name
