The portions are too big, the amount of salt is too much for a couple of things. Now when we go on a vacation you have no alternative but to eat out, but we go an extra mile by planning the trip so much so as to actually pick out places BEFORE we go. Went to a Chef school for 3 years so in my humble opinion I am as good if not better then the local eateries. We go out for occasions (B'days etc.) ...now they have opened up a new BBQ place in our little town and I do love ribs and pulled pork so we have had that...it was good, but in this area of NC BBQ is manna...
For us I'll do the cooking, set up the table in the back, put on the music, have the little pond fountain going, light up the fire pitch, make some drinks, eat, listen to the water/music...star watch...Oh yeah...Mary does the clean-up....and it's a cheap date.
To me it's all about proper portion size and lay off all the salt....salt is supposed to bring out the other flavors, not cover them up.
