What I always did, before we had all 4WD/AWD vehicles, was to go to the junkyard and get 2 extra rims, matching your vehicle (making sure they will balance). Have the studded tires mounted and just swicth'em out, local laws on dates apply. Would usually get 2-3 seasons that way......
Also, if vehicle is 2wd, sandbags for weight really help (can be removed) and a army shovel for the trunk.......
Or just get him a Subaru....lol
Man, the wiffie's Outback is unstoppable. Not only deep snow, but ice also.
P.S....Tell him if it's "black ice"....stay home and watch other people wreck........
